More than 50 leaders from different areas took part in a new edition of Train The Trainers, a training program focused on leadership, hospitality, organizational culture and service. The initiative will continue throughout September and October as part of preparations for the 2026–2027 season.

Punta Arenas, September 2, 2026.- As part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen the experience of those visiting Torres del Paine, Las Torres Patagonia held a new edition of Train The Trainers, a training program designed for the leaders who will support and prepare their teams throughout the 2026–2027 season.

From August 18 to 25, 52 leaders from Mountain Refugios, Hotel, Operations, Conservation, and People & Culture gathered in Punta Arenas for eight days of training focused on strengthening their leadership, hospitality and service skills.

The initiative is designed to ensure that the knowledge gained during the program can later be shared across the organization, helping build a common approach to the experience Las Torres Patagonia seeks to provide its guests.

Leading Through Hospitality

One of the program’s main areas of focus was the concept of leadership through hospitality, emphasizing the importance of supporting and enabling teams to create better experiences for both employees and travelers.

The first sessions were led by René Fischer, President of Hospitality & Service University, who has worked alongside Las Torres Patagonia in recent years to further develop its approach to hospitality.

“We have placed a particular emphasis on leadership through hospitality, on leadership where we truly care for people. We have shifted from a controlling leadership approach to one that facilitates and supports,” Fischer explained.

According to Fischer, this approach takes on particular importance in a destination such as Torres del Paine, where visitors from around the world are looking for something that goes beyond simply discovering a new place.

“Hospitality is about creating an emotional connection with people. Today, people travel to have meaningful experiences, to connect with their surroundings, with the local culture and even with themselves,” he added.

An Experience Built Across Different Areas

Train The Trainers also brought together leaders from different areas and operations within Las Torres Patagonia, strengthening collaboration and knowledge-sharing among teams that, through their different roles, all contribute to the overall guest experience.

Throughout the program, participants explored topics related to the Las Torres Patagonia brand and culture, safety and prevention, conservation, cybersecurity, people management and compliance, as well as the Service Manual developed for both the Hotel and Mountain Refugios.

The program also included practical methodologies designed to help participants share and apply what they learned with their own teams.

Preparing for the 2026–2027 Season

Leadership training will continue over the coming weeks. A second Train The Trainers session will take place from September 10 to 16 in Punta Arenas, followed by another stage from September 30 to October 6 at Refugio Serón, inside Torres del Paine National Park.

Through these initiatives, Las Torres Patagonia continues preparing its teams for the new season, strengthening not only the skills needed to lead people, but also a shared culture built around hospitality, service and the guest experience.
