The photography competition invited trekking enthusiasts to share their most memorable outdoor adventures. The winner will receive a 5-day, 4-night W Journey experience for two in Torres del Paine.
Torres del Paine, September 14, 2026 – Las Torres Patagonia has announced the winner of “Your Best Trekking Moments”, a photography competition launched to celebrate World Photography Day and inviting people from around the world to share their favorite trekking moments on Instagram.
This year’s winner is Ben Gilliland (@ben_gilliland_), whose photograph was taken in the Swiss Alps. Framed by a dramatic mountain landscape and snow-covered peaks, the image was selected for both its photographic quality and its ability to capture the sense of exploration and discovery at the heart of a trekking experience.
The competition ran from August 19 to September 10 and attracted 1,192 entries, featuring trekking experiences across trails, mountains and natural landscapes around the world. To enter, participants were invited to share their photographs on Instagram using the hashtag #WJourney.
The winning image was selected by a judging panel comprising Rodrigo Guendelman, Hannah Rheaume and Nick Savage, professionals with backgrounds spanning photography, travel, nature and outdoor experiences.
As the winner, Gilliland will travel with a guest to Torres del Paine to experience W Journey, a 5-day, 4-night guided trek covering some of the highlights of the iconic W Circuit, including Base Torres, the French Valley and the Grey Glacier area. The experience includes fully equipped camping accommodation, all meals, a bilingual host, private transfers to and from Puerto Natales, entrance to Torres del Paine National Park and a boat crossing on Lake Pehoé.
Through “Your Best Trekking Moments”, Las Torres Patagonia sought to celebrate photography as a way of preserving and sharing the moments that define an outdoor adventure, while encouraging its community to showcase trekking through different perspectives, landscapes and destinations around the world.
