When you’re hiking up the Francés Valley, don’t forget to stop for a minute and take a look behind you! As you climb higher, it’s awesome to see the famous “foehn” winds zipping around Lake Nordenskjöld like little tornadoes. These occur due to a unique microclimate, in which dry air drifts over the mountaintops and then sweeps down its slope, gaining speed as it gets warmer and approaches the lake. It is quite a sight to behold!

After your hike up to the Francés Valley and Británico lookouts, warm up and recharge your mind and body by sharing memories with other hikers over a hot dinner at the restaurant.

Have fun, meet new people and sleep well. Mountain hostels are mixed dormitory rooms with bunk beds for 8 people, a shared bathroom and hot showers.

There is no cooking inside the mountain hostel, so if you do not contract a meal plan, you can cook outside in the camping area. Make it all-inclusive with a full or half board meal plan.

Lodging Rates: Stay in a single bed in a shared room:

• Low season (October and April): USD $160
• High season (November to March) USD $180

Meal Plans:Aside from the scheduled meals, the restaurants in our mountain hostels offer hot and cold snacks from 10:00am – 10:00pm. Food service is limited in capacity.

• Full board (breakfast, box lunch and dinner*): USD $110.
• Half board (breakfast and dinner*): USD $80.

During Christmas and New Year:

• Full board (breakfast, box lunch and dinner*): USD $150.
• Half board (breakfast and dinner*): USD $120.
