The award was given for the 10 Volunteers for 10 Days 2024 initiative, which invited US citizens to support reconstruction of the trail to Base Torres.
Torres del Paine, June 3, 2025.- Las Torres Patagonia, a family business located in the heart of the Torres del Paine National Park, won another distinction this week. At a gala dinner held in London for the LATA Excellence Awards 2025, the company earned the highest award in the “Marketing Campaign of the Year” category thanks to its “10 Volunteers for 10 Days” initiative.
The Latin American Travel Association (LATA), an organization dedicated to promoting Latin America as a tourist destination and fostering increased travel to the region, recognized several companies that play a key role in travel experiences across the continent. On this occasion, Las Torres Patagonia was recognized for an innovative campaign that invited US citizens to participate in the reconstruction of the trail to Base Torres.
The company encouraged hundreds of people across the United States to apply through a video in which they shared their thoughts on sustainability and ecotourism. After a rigorous selection process, the company selected 10 winners, who traveled to Torres del Paine with all expenses paid.
As a result of this initiative, nearly half a kilometer of sustainable trail was built leading to Las Torres Base Lookout, significantly contributing to conservation and improving the experience of visitors to the national park.
The success of this campaign has led to a second version, where the invitation has been extended to include citizens of Chile and Brazil, forming groups from different territories with diverse experiences and languages, united by this sustainable project.
“We are pleased that our campaign is being recognized in various settings around the world, which positions and elevates the image of Chile and Torres del Paine internationally. 10 Volunteers for 10 Days was very well received in the countries where it was rolled out, raising awareness about the importance of protecting this destination,” said Josian Yaksic, general manager of Las Torres Patagonia.
The company’s commercial manager, Juan López, who was present at the awards ceremony, celebrated this achievement, highlighting, “this campaign aimed to present the Torres del Paine destination to the world from a sustainability perspective, offering volunteers from different countries the opportunity not only to be part of a conservation project, but also to be enchanted by the natural wonders found in the park.”
