On February 24 and 25, the event will screen several mountaineering documentaries.
Torres del Paine, February 19, 2025 – Santiago Mountain Films Festival is an important, renowned mountaineering documentary screening event. This year, after screening the films in Chile’s capital city, a summer tour will bring the Banff Mountain Film Tour to locations throughout the country, including the Las Torres Patagonia Welcome Center.
This February 24 and 25, the event will feature audiovisual productions related to adventure, mountaineering, climbing and sustainability. The films relay experiences for young adventurers as well as those with decades of adventure experience.
In the words of its organizer, Patrick Moore, the event allows adventurers from around the world to collaborate and share experiences, creating connections that can lead to collaboration or advice on future adventures.
This festival version will screen four short films of approximately 30 minutes each. The first day will feature only South American filmmakers; Chilean filmmakers participated in the call for entries.
The festival’s expert panel selected the audiovisual pieces based on theme, technical quality, and relevance to the event’s target audience.
“Everyone is going to have a great time at the festival because Torres del Paine is one of the best places on the planet. People will be able to see great films and spend time with others who share a taste for adventure,” said Moore a few weeks before the event.
