Winners of the second edition of #TorresDelPaineSnapshot2024

Torres del Paine, September 13, 2024 – Las Torres Patagonia announced on Friday, September 13, the winners of the #TorresDelPaineSnapshot2024 photography contest. This year’s theme, “Conquest of the Base Torres Viewpoint,” brought together both professional and amateur photographers to showcase the beauty of one of the most iconic tourist spots in the country.

The winner of this edition was Willemijn A (@mijnspics), a citizen of the Netherlands who visited Torres del Paine in 2023 and captured the stunning image that won the competition. Her photograph stood out among 317 participants, beautifully capturing one of the most anticipated moments for hikers passionate about Patagonia: witnessing the awe-inspiring granite towers.

The selected image brought together various elements that captivated the jury, including a deep connection to the landscape and a fresh perspective on what it means to arrive at this viewpoint. Timothy Dhalleine, the president of the jury and a renowned photographer, highlighted the composition, vibrant colors, and the thoughtful arrangement of elements in her shot, which emphasized the grandeur of the rock formations that have enchanted explorers and visitors for decades.

“We are thrilled with the talent and participation of this year’s contestants. The submissions demonstrated a high level of quality, with images that tell stories and offer refreshing compositions. We are pleased to see that Torres del Paine continues to attract talented nature photographers from all over the world,” Dhalleine said, adding, “We look forward to continuing to discover Patagonia through the eyes of different artists and showcasing the natural wonders found in Chile.”

#TorresDelPaineSnapshot2024 winner’s prize includes a three-day, two-night All-Inclusive experience at Hotel Las Torres, where she will enjoy all the amenities of the program while continuing to explore Torres del Paine National Park.

This year’s contest also awarded second and third place prizes, as the level of photographic quality was exceptionally high. The second-place winner, Jeannette Sazo (@jsazoc) from Chile, captured a stunning image of Base Torres from the perspective of a bird perched on trekking poles, combining the adventure of the trail with local wildlife and creating a unique moment. She will receive the Circuit W Express + program, a five-day, four-night package that includes mountain hostels accommodations and a fourth night at Hotel Las Torres.

The third-place winner, Guille (@guilleq) from Chile, captured the triumphant moment hikers experience upon reaching their destination and admiring the magnificent granite towers, which were formed millions of years ago through geological processes. His prize is the Circuit W Express program, a four-day, three-night camping experience that highlights the park’s main attractions in a shorter time frame.
