What should you bring?

Circuit Options

Torres del Paine has very diverse weather and you will likely be hot at one point in the day and cold in another. Having the appropriate attire for the conditions will ensure you can enjoy each moment. Layers are the key so remember the basics of the 3 layer system. Your base layer keeps you dry, your mid-layer maintains your temperature, and your outer layer protects you from the elements.

  • 1 Bring extra SD cards and batteries! You will take more pictures than you thought possible!
  • 2 Sun protection is a must! Hats, neck buffs, and 100% UV sunglasses are necessary.

Circuit Options

Check time estimates for the day’s hike before leaving and make sure to have enough water and snacks. If you run out of water, you can fill up in the stream! Leave camp early so you can enjoy the trail and still get into your next camp in time to rest and enjoy your new surroundings. Keep a steady rhythm while walking, in order to maintain a constant (not racing) heartbeat.

  • 1 Snacks, food, and beer/wine can be purchased in some mountain hostels.
  • 2 Don’t overpack! Extra, unnecessary items just make your backpack heavier.
  • 3 Enjoy the trail! So make stops to enjoy the landscape and drink water at least one per hour.

All-Inclusive options

Although you’ll come back each night to the warm, cozy hotel where you’ll be able to take a hot shower, enjoy a tasty meal and indulge in a signature cocktail, craft beer, or Chilean wine, it’s important you bring the right gear for your tours outside the hotel. Torres del Paine has very diverse weather and you will likely be hot at one point in the day and cold in another. Having the appropriate attire for the conditions will ensure you can enjoy each moment.

  • 1 Bring extra SD cards and batteries! You will take more pictures than you thought possible!
  • 2 Sun protection is a must! Hats, sunscreen, neck buffs, and 100% UV sunglasses are necessary.

All-Inclusive Options

You can do multiple half-day tours in one day. Don’t forget about the many leisure activities that you can check out around the estancia during your down time. Talk to the garden keepers, the bartenders, and the baqueanos! They each have rich stories to tell and tips to share about their unique areas of expertise.

  • 1 The all-inclusive experience includes food at both the restaurant or eco-friendly bar, so you can vary it up depending on what you’re in the mood for.
  • 2 Keep a steady rhythm while walking, in order to maintain a constant (not racing) heartbeat.
  • 3 Enjoy the tour! So make stops to enjoy the landscape and drink water as needed.
