CONAF informs that as of September 1 it will no longer be mandatory to enter the Base Torres trail with certified guides

Likewise, the corporation informed of the entrance and exit schedules for the main points inside the national park.

Torres del Paine, September 3, 2024 – The National Forestry Corporation (CONAF) released a new update on the status of entrance policies to Torres del Paine National Park this week. In its communiqué, the entity established the schedules and restrictions applied to the main points inside the park.

As is well known by those who visit the Base Torres trail during the winter, the corporation requires visitors to enter this sector with certified guides, due to the complexity of entering this area during the Patagonian winter, however, with the advance of spring in the region, the entity has lifted this limitation, which will take effect from September 1 of this year.

CONAF informa que desde el 1 de septiembre no será obligatorio el ingreso al parque con guías certificados

However, the use of micro crampons and trekking poles will continue to be mandatory as long as the trail conditions require it.

As for the maximum entrance hours from the Laguna Amarga Entrance, between October and November it will be at 9:00 AM, while for the period between December and February, the entrance time will be changed to 10:00 AM. For the beginning of the closing of the season, for the months of March and April, the schedule will change again to 9:30 AM. Finally, for the stretch between May and August, the time will be 9:00 AM, again.

Regarding the closing time of the Base Torres Viewpoint, for the first months of the season, October and November, it will be at 3:00 PM. While for the months of December, January and February, this will be changed to 16:00 hours. For the last two months of the season, March and April, the closing time will return to 15:00 hrs. For the first months of the Patagonian autumn and winter, May to August, the last visitors to the viewpoint will leave at 14:00 hrs.

Las Torres Patagonia urges all visitors to be duly informed of the park’s hours, restrictions and general regulations before their visit so as not to affect the smooth running of their visit.
