The company’s CEO was awarded the “Distinction for Executive Achievement in Caring for Life.”
Torres del Paine, November 5, 2025. Last week, the Occupational Safety Institute (IST) held its eagerly awaited 2025 Annual Prevention Awards, which recognizes leaders who “make a significant contribution to protecting life in its many dimensions.” This year, special recognition was given to the CEO of Las Torres Patagonia, Josian Yaksic, who received the “Distinction for Executive Achievement in Caring for Life.”
This award highlights the company’s accomplishments in terms of its commitment, contribution, and management in the area of prevention, which directly resulted in “significant improvements in the prevention indicators and outcomes achieved.”
“We couldn’t do what we do without our team,” said Yaksic upon receiving the award, adding, “I must start by acknowledging the work of everyone who has helped build the Las Torres Patagonia experience, including IST, who have long supported us in advancing wellness initiatives with our teams.”
Pamela Muñoz, IST’s Southern Zone Manager, stated that “Josian Yaksic has been a pioneer in promoting issues not only related to people’s safety and wellbeing, but also to caring for life itself, which means looking at sustainability and comprehensive human welfare.”
The company received a second award in the sustainability category for its “outstanding commitment to protecting the natural and social environment, promoting management that integrates sustainable development with people’s well-being,” said IST CEO Gustavo González.
The award was presented in Santiago at the national IST awards ceremony, where Josian Yaksic accepted the award on behalf of the company, accompanied by Las Torres Patagonia’s Conservation, Sustainability, and Safety Manager, John Ojeda, and the company’s Commercial Manager, Juan López.
After the ceremony, Ojeda said, “We are deeply honored that our CEO has received this recognition, which celebrates not only his leadership but also the collective spirit of those of us who care for life, nature, and people every day at Las Torres Patagonia.”
