Las Torres Patagonia will be Chile’s sole representative at WTM Latin America 2023, to be held in São Paulo, Brazil. On April 4, the 15 finalists will learn who wins this important award.

World Travel Market (WTM) has selected Las Torres Patagonia as one of the 15 finalists for the Latin America Responsible Tourism Awards in the category of ‘Best Initiatives for Nature Conservation’.

Las Torres Patagonia’s long history of sustainability projects earned it this prestigious nomination that shines a light on the most inspiring and replicable initiatives in sustainable and responsible tourism.

Holistic Management

Las Torres boasts leading-edge achievements such as an EOV certification in holistic management of grasslands, a 2022 LATAM Impact Awards for the conservation and restoration of the Trail to Base Torres, and the 2022 ATTA Adventure in Motion Award for its sustainable cocktail initiative. This is complemented by reforestation efforts at Reserva Las Torres and the operation of a regenerative organic garden.

For all these reasons, Las Torres Patagonia was selected from 66 submissions from all over the region. A panel of industry professionals considered the following criteria for its selection: originality, potential for replication, and the possibility of measuring the impact.

The 15 finalists from Argentina (2), Brazil (8), Colombia (2), Ecuador (2), and Chile (1) will compete for one of three final prizes: Gold, Silver, and One to Watch. The winners will be announced on Tuesday, April 4 during the WTM Latin America fair to be held in São Paulo, Brazil.

WTM Latin America takes place every year in the city of São Paulo and attracts around 20,000 tourism professionals during the three-day event. It offers insider content together with networking and business opportunities. During its latest edition in 2022, WTM Latin America continued to focus on effective business generation and coordinated the advance booking of 6,000 meetings that were held between buyers, travel agents, and exhibitors. The next iteration, which will mark the fair’s 10th anniversary, will take place from Monday, April 3 to Wednesday 5 at the Expo Center Norte in São Paulo.
