Las Torres Base Circuit 3D/2N - Reserva Las Torres

Las Torres Base Circuit 3D/2N

Las Torres Base Circuit 3D/2N

Come explore the trail that leads to the striking Las Torres Base Viewpoint. The three 2,600 m (8,500 ft) granite peaks that lend their name to the National Park will dazzle you with their beauty in this unique destination called Torres del Paine.

Your hike begins with a walk along the foothills of Mt Almirante Nieto, where the combination of the breeze and the view will awaken your soul.

The peaks loom in the distance as you follow the trail along the steep slopes of the Ascencio River Valley. Lush trees and vegetation line the river below, and you can see all the way to the far end of the valley, a full view of the road ahead. You will enter a forest of native lenga beech and come to a rocky area, which announces the final and most challenging stretch of the trail. The climb will literally keep you on your toes, and you will need to be alert as you step from one rock to the next. But, like all hard work, you will be rewarded.

At the top you will be able to unwind, enjoy this magical experience, recharge your energy amidst the scenery, and reflect on the beauty of the world while facing Torres del Paine.

The adventure starts early in the morning, leaving from the reception area of campsites or the mountain hostels.

What will you see?

Los Vientos Mountain Pass

The vegetation will thicken as you go deeper into the steep slopes of the Ascencio River Valley. After a long climb to the famous Los Vientos Mountain Pass, you will have a breathtaking panorama of the valley, the nearby lakes, and the Oggioni mountains on the horizon.

Lenga beech forest

One of Patagonia’s iconic trees, Nothofagus pumilio, thrives in areas with low temperatures and heavy snowfall. The lenga beech forest is the natural habitat of various species of birds, such as Magellanic woodpeckers, southern parakeets, and Chilean flickers.

La Morrena

The last stretch is an hour climb up a rocky trail to Las Torres Base Viewpoint. You will walk through a moraine with boulders as big as buses, before glancing the long-awaited granite towers that rest over a mighty, blue-gray glacial lake.

Las Torres Base Viewpoint

Amongst the most famous mountains in the world, these three granite peaks soar into the sky at 2,850 m (9,350 ft), 2,800 m (9,200 ft), and 2,600 m (8,500 ft). Molded by sheer glacial force, these are the impressive towers that give the park its name.
