This summer, a new concept of camping arrives to the trekking circuits of Torres del Paine, the “Premium Camping”. It is a sustainable alternative which offers greater comfort and safety to visitors.

In order to provide a premium outdoor experience to travelers who want to connect with nature in the W Circuit, Las Torres Reserve presents its Premium Camping product, an alternative that will change the way of camping in Torres del Paine.

This new Premium Camping will be available from January 1, 2023, in the Central, Chileno, Francés, Cuernos and Serón sectors. “Tribu Tents” offers a special tent developed by Chilean entrepreneurs who love nature and have positioned themselves as experts in manufacturing tents with a focus on sustainability.

“We are very happy to work with Iñaki and Federico, founders of Tribu tents. It makes perfect sense for us to create alliances with Chilean entrepreneurs, which allow us to create much broader and more comfortable camping programs that encourage more people to do the W Circuit. We hope this will be a novelty”, stated Mauricio Kusanovic, Executive Director of Las Torres Reserve.

Premium Camping consists of firm and ample tents suitable for the climatic conditions of Patagonia. It´s suitable for all four seasons and sits on a very firm platform 1.60 meters (or 5.25 feet) above the ground. The quality and thickness of the tent and its waterproof green canvas 300G ristop fabrics make it much more resistant to wind, rain, snow and UV rays, and has been tested throughout Chile.

The elevated platform and tent support about 300 kg (or 661 pounds) and provides greater amplitude of space and comfort inside as it is completely padded, which allows better rest. Beneath it, there is a kind of natural refuge, ideal for the dynamics of trekking that requires taking out the backpack and assembling equipment. Additionally, it has additional interior pockets, including for shoes.

“By staying in Tribu tents, you will feel the benefits of being connected with nature, in a comfortable place, off the ground, avoiding to receive external humidity, in addition to a level of greater comfort in the padding and 100% protected in a place as beautiful as Torres de Paine National Park is”, said Iñaki Madinagoitia, founder of Tribu tents and environmental activist.

One factor that became relevant when considering partnering with Tribu tents is their environmental commitment. The tents are made with 100% recyclable material where any renewal due to forced use over time can be reused in other products. In turn, this enterprise contributes to the NGO “1% For The Planet”, which certifies that 1% of its income is donated to conservation projects.

“Getting to work with Las Torres Patagonia was an encounter triggered by the affinity of the brand values that range from respect for nature to the development of camping sites and the appreciation of Chile’s landscapes” assured Madinagoitia.

“Camping Premium” will become an excellent option among the traditional camping and mountain hostels in Chile, an attractive modality to add to the Trekking Circuit programs of the W Circuit in Las Torres Reserve.
